ram is only use to store data when u r using the computer, after u turn off ur computer everything gets wiped out from the ram. the HD is where all data is stored( that u can use after restarting ur computer)

Performace wise, I think that I got a lot more from the 7200rpm HDD that I put in over this, however I can safely run a HUGE number of programs now. I don’t know if you’ll be able sell the ram that you replace. It is definately a great upgrade, but there are not a lot of products that have taken advantage of the new DDR3 ram.

I am definitely going to sound like a noob: what difference does it make in terms of performance? (And I see that 4 gb ram upgrade from apple store is 150 dollars, so this is very profitable, after selling the removed rams I assume?)

I got the same brand! OWC is fully compatible with macbook aluminum. upgraded mine from 2gig to 4gigs of ram plus 500gb HDD WD Scorpio Blue.
ram was shipped from the US to my country Philippines!
ram upgrades here in the Philippines are so expensive!
Go directly to OWC!

thanx

If I understand you correctly, I’m increasing the amount of ram from 2gb to 4gb. You should not have any trouble if you take your time and have patience. I went with OWC ram based on others reviews, however any ram should be sufficient. And finally if you’ve got the new MacBook unibody, then you need to use ddr3 ram.
28 July 2010 | scottharvz Said:
do apple fit one for u
i dont want to break mine :L
when u make it 4 what does it increase
and is kingston the best ram make???
and ddr3 or ddr2??
